THURSDAY VOLUNTEER TASK DAY
1, 8, 15, 22, 29  MONTH 10am - 3pm

The tasks will cover a range of conservation work with a particular emphasis on conservation management. Your help on any of these task days will be much appreciated. Meeting details will be send to you when you book your place.
As part of this PRE-BOOKING of places is essential.
To check availability, to book and for further information contact Sue McDonald at least one week beforehand. You may book for more than one date.
Wear weather appropriate clothing & footwear (work gloves & any tools needed will be provided).
Bring a packed lunch & a sense of humour.

TUESDAY VOLUNTEER TASK DAY
6, 13, 20, 27  MONTH 10am - 3pm

If you can spare any time to come along & help on any of these task days your help will be much appreciated. Meet outside the Classroom by Alexandra Lodge. Wear weather appropriate clothing & footwear (work gloves & any tools needed will be provided).

GUIDED BIRD/INSECT WALK - FREE - booking essential
SATURDAY 10 FEBRUARY 9.30am - 11.30am
Our next guided walk with Hayley & Carl looking for birds in the park will take place on 10 February. Assemble at 9.15am at the Dynamo House to leave at 9.30am. Please wear stout footwear and bring binoculars if you have them.
The walk will last approximately 2 hours.
The walk is limited to 15 people so PRE-BOOKING of places is essential.

FRIENDS OF BESTWOOD COUNTRY PARK ​HERITAGE GROUP
THURSDAY 29 FEBRUARY 2pm - 3pm AT DYNAMO HOUSE
We will be planning how to gather various aspects of the park's history and make it available to everyone in the future. All welcome who are interested in celebrating the unique heritage of the park.

MOTH & BAT NIGHT
- Date and time to be arranged

A moth trap will be set up after dark to catch & identify moths. Bat detectors will be available to use to find out who is flying about at night. Everyone is welcome and there's no need to book. Just turn up and enjoy.

Assemble at 10 am at the top end of the Gardens near the steps by the Bestwood Lodge Hotel; bring strong gardening gloves, a picnic, and wear stout footwear. Tools will be provided.

More Details of Regular Events

Winding Engine House Tours

Saturday Mornings 10am - 12noon
Throughout the year


Free tours of the Winding Engine House are available on Saturday mornings. There is no need to book but if you expect a large party to attend you could ring ahead to let the volunteers know.  Tours outside these normal opening hours can be arranged - See the WEH Volunteers page.

The Dynamo House Café

Saturdays throughout the year 9.30am to 12.30pm

The  Dynamo House Café is a community cafe staffed by FoBCP volunteers. It is open every Saturday morning offering hot & cold drinks alongside tempting home-made cakes & biscuits. 

Please note we now accept card payments for a minimum £1 spend.

The Café will be open 9.30am - 12.30pm on Bank Holiday Mondays too.

Saturday 5km Park Run

These happen every Saturday setting out at 9 am. To attend please walk, cycle or go by public transport if you can, as there is very limited parking nearby. It is free to take part but you must register first. For details and to register contact [email protected].
